Equilibrium Cycle Works

Equilibrium Cycle Works is a workshop run by Vladimir Balahovsky located in the East of Tokyo, Japan. He is specialized in hand-made custom bicycle frames made to order, born out of the passion for cycling, steel construction, simple lines and seamless finish.

Vlad’s journey into cycling began with riding and then restoring vintage lightweight racers as a business. Being lucky to experience the timeless beauty of some truly iconic steel bikes firsthand, he took up the art of framebuilding. Through the tutelage of renowned Japanese NJS qualified frame builder ‘Ohtaki’, thus in 2013 ‘Equilibrium Cycle Works’* was established.

It’s trademark is to combine classic lines with modern technologies to create perfect performance machines built to last a lifetime. An individual approach to every single frame grants allows to create something really unique and perfectly matched to every single customer. That extends from the frame material, its geometry and construction all the way to aesthetics. ‘Equilibrium Cycle Works’ frames are known for their original lug- and artwork, the later applied by Japan’s paint masters.
