Appleman Bicycles is a one-man shop that builds custom carbon fiber bikes.
Raw, clean, thoughtful design is paired with advanced composites engineering for a delicious ride.
Emma’s Gravel bike will be on display at NAHBS. Appleman Bicycles
The tubing and geometry is fully custom on this frame. I design all of my tubing to match the rider weight, riding style, and frame size.
While this is the lightest fat bike frame ever built at 1000 grams (2.2 pounds), weight was not the driving factor in design.
All Appleman frames are built using the "tube-to-tube" style and are not plug and play bonded sections. Each tube is mitered, tacked, filleted, and meticulously wrapped with carbon fiber reinforcement.
Layup in the joints are smooth and the plies of carbon are staggered to create a smooth aesthetic and eliminate stress risers.
The layup process has been developed and refined over the last 10 years.
Featuring a fully carbon fiber frame customized to Emma's slight build, this bike provides race worthy stiffness with enough flex to keep the tires on the ground. With clearance for up to 42mm tires (read massive mud clearance) this bike is designed to be ridden on all sorts of courses.
Featuring a top of the line, 1x drivetrain featuring a wide range Shimano XTR cassette and Di2 rear derailleur, this bike is the pinnacle of simplicity and functionality. TRP's hydraulic brakes provide stopping power and the brake hoods are the epitome of ergonomics.
Whether Emma is on the CX course, or crushing gravel, this bike bike rips.
