Detroit Bikes Founder and President, Zak Pashak

Sacramento, CA – February 22, 2016 – Detroit Bikes will join hundreds of bike makers from across the United States at the North American Handmade Bicycle Show (NAHBS). The Detroit-based bike manufacturer will display its growing line of production bicycles and introduce new products and services to fellow bike builders.

Detroit Bikes is currently manufacturing more than 2,400 bikes for New Belgium Brewing as part of the beer maker’s annual mission to promote biking among their employees and customers. Now in the first stages of product delivery, the “Fat Tire Ale” bikes have inspired New Belgium to renew this contract in 2017.

In 2015, Detroit Bikes entered into an agreement with Motivate, the leading bicycle sharing management system in the United States. As a result, Detroit Bikes is responsible for the assembly, powder coating, distribution and delivery of more than 3,000 bikes in the first half of 2016. This number is set to grow and will include assembling bikes for additional bike share programs across the country.

These large-scale contracts have helped Detroit Bikes grow from just a handful of frame builders to a talented team of over 30 skilled machinists, welders, fabricators, painters, and bike assemblers in a few short years.

Detroit Bikes’ capabilities have also grown to provide new services and products to bike builders. The company offers painted or raw frames, frame kits, and specialty items like bottom bracket shells to bike builders. “We’re excited to show the hand built community everything Detroit Bikes can do,” Said Founder and President, Zak Pashak. “Through a traditional assembly line approach, we’re able to manufacture a high volume of quality, hand built frames and components available to everyone.”
