2016 North American Handmade Bike Show Back in California
Organizers expect record attendance as NAHBS returns to the Sacramento Convention Center
BOULDER, COLO. (1/26/2016) – The North American Handmade Bicycle Show, the world’s largest show for custom-built bicycles, is returning to Northern California for the 2016 event next month.
This year’s show will be held February 26th– 28th, at the Sacramento Convention Center. Heading into its twelfth year, NAHBS provides an interactive forum for frame builders and cycling enthusiasts to come together to share new products, ideas, and support. Exhibitors, attendees, and media can register to attend the 2016 show at the NAHBS website now.
“The artistry and craftsman of these builders transcends cycling – these are legitimate works of art. They’re more like functional sculptures,” adds Walker “It’s really not just a show for bike enthusiasts. Anyone who appreciates artisanship and craftsmanship will enjoy it – even kids will love checking out the bikes.”
The annual show, which changes venues each year, was also held in Sacramento in 2012; that show saw the highest attendance numbers in the event’s 12-year history, attracting over 8,000 visitors.
With the continued growth in cycling’s popularity over the last few years, combined with the popularity of the sport in Northern California, organizers are hoping to hit a benchmark with 10,000 visitors this year.
“We had an incredible show in Sacramento back in 2012, and the turnout was amazing,” says Show Director Don Walker, himself an exhibiting frame builder. “California is such a bike-crazy state, and that’s especially true up north. They really appreciate these beautiful machines, and the exhibitors love being around that passion. I’m hopeful we will set another attendance record, and maybe even hit our dream goal of 10,000!”
